Mail-in address
CITY OF COMPTON, MUNICIPAL UTILITIES BILLING, P.O. Box 511811, Los Angeles, CA 90051-1800. The City also identifies Water Department, 205 South Willowbrook Avenue, Compton, CA 90220 as an address for payment and customer service. Mail checks or money orders only, include the customer/account number, and do not send cash. Payments for a shutoff-processed account cannot be made by check.
Counters, drop boxes, and office hours
The staffed payment counter is on the ground floor of City Hall/Water Utility Division, 205 South Willowbrook Avenue, Compton, CA 90220. Hours are Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.; City Hall is closed every Friday and the current notice pauses counter and telephone service from 12:00 p.m.–1:30 p.m. Cash, check, money order, and the published card types are accepted subject to account status and the City's processing rules. A front-of-City-Hall drop box along Willowbrook Avenue accepts checks or money orders. Online, telephone, mail, and registered bank bill-pay channels are additional options; the portal's exact final fee controls for card or electronic transactions.
