Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The bill is due on the 15th with a grace period through the last working day of that month; depending on the calendar, this is usually roughly 13–16 days after the due date. Payments after the delinquent date are penalized.
Late-fee calculation
The City states that late water and sewer charges are penalized at 2% and solid-waste charges at 10%. A $15 returned-payment fee applies; after two returned payments, the City may require cash for future transactions. If an account is processed for disconnection, the customer must pay all balances plus a $25 reconnection fee and a $100 deposit if no deposit is already held.
Disconnection timeline
Manteca’s monthly statement becomes delinquent after the 15th-of-month due date and the last-working-day grace period. Delinquent accounts may be disconnected; the City reports 300 residential water disconnections for nonpayment during calendar year 2025. The accessible public start-service page does not state one fixed number of delinquent days or the exact physical shutoff date, but it identifies the required balance, $25 reconnection fee, and possible $100 deposit for restoration.
