Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
15 days after the billing date, when utility bills become delinquent. If payment is not received within 30 days of the billing date, the account may be subject to disconnection and additional fees.
Late-fee calculation
A 5% late fee is assessed on unpaid balances and appears on a subsequent bill. Past-due final bills may be referred to collections or small claims, and delinquent balances may become property liens or, after a public hearing, be added to the property tax roll.
Disconnection timeline
Bills are due upon receipt, become delinquent 15 days after billing, and may be disconnected if not paid in full within 30 days of billing. All outstanding balances, including applicable reconnection and deposit charges, must be paid before restoration.
