Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
GRU may adjust water and/or wastewater rates under limited circumstances after a customer-side leak is repaired. The customer must submit the adjustment request within 90 days of the billing period in question, identify the leak type and date it began, provide the repair date, and attach proof such as a plumber statement or receipts for repair supplies. Submission does not guarantee a credit; GRU waits for repair completion and consumption to return to normal, may request additional information, and can take up to 90 days to process. Customers should continue paying bills in full while the request is reviewed or contact GRU for a payment extension. Approval or denial is communicated by phone or in writing.
