Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
GRU may adjust water and/or wastewater charges in limited situations after a service-address leak. The customer must submit the Water Adjustment Form within 90 days of the billing period, identify the leak type, state when it began, provide the repair date, and attach proof such as a plumber statement or receipt for repair supplies. The leak must be repaired and consumption must return to normal before any credit is applied; submission does not guarantee approval, processing can take up to 90 days, and incomplete forms or missing documentation can delay review. Bills should be paid in full while the request is pending, or the customer should request a payment extension.
