Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Once per 12-month billing period, a customer may submit a written request for an unexpected-water-loss review, and the adjustment cannot exceed two consecutive billing periods. Water usage during the unexpected-loss period is billed at the lowest approved water rate step instead of the higher incremental steps. Wastewater relief is calculated from the preceding three billing periods, or the same seasonal period in the prior year when needed. LCU waits for evidence that the leak or cause has been corrected, such as a plumber or parts statement, a customer letter/email confirming repair, or meter readings returning to normal. Pool installation/refill and pressure washing do not qualify unless a leak is involved. Representatives may approve interest-free payment terms for excessive leak-originated bills.
