- Billing frequency
- Monthly. Jupiter bills all utility accounts every month and reads each meter manually or electronically during the monthly cycle.
- Rate structure
- Conservation-based increasing block rates. Effective October 1, 2025, a 5/8- or 3/4-inch residential meter has a $27.11 monthly base facility charge; commodity water is $1.61 per 1,000 gallons for 0-6,000, $2.16 for 6,001-14,000, $3.84 for 14,001-30,000 and $5.05 above 30,000. A 6% utility tax applies inside Jupiter municipal limits and an unincorporated Palm Beach/Martin County surcharge equals 25% of water charges.
- Residential cost reference
- For 7,000 gallons on a 5/8- or 3/4-inch meter, the published October 2025 water charges are approximately $27.11 base plus 6 x $1.61 plus 1 x $2.16, or $38.93 before the 6% municipal tax, 25% unincorporated surcharge or separate stormwater/refuse charges. Jupiter Utilities does not provide sewer service; sewer is generally a separate provider charge.
- Wastewater and sewer calculation
- Jupiter's official FAQ states the Town Utilities is not the customer's sewer provider. The reviewed Town bill/rate pages therefore do not publish a Jupiter sewer percentage, winter average or water-volume tie-in; the customer must identify the separate sewer agency serving the address.
- Meter reading
- Jupiter's current rate/billing page says meters are manually or electronically read each month. The Town announced a system-wide AMI equipment upgrade beginning Spring 2026 with anticipated completion in April 2028; customers will gain daily water-use information through the portal or customer service as the rollout proceeds.
- New-account deposit
- The latest publicly indexed Jupiter fee schedule lists residential deposits of $90 for a 5/8- or 3/4-inch meter, $120 for 1 inch, $150 for 1-1/2 inch and $180 for 2 inch; multi-family deposits are based on living units times the monthly base charge times three months, with a $90 minimum. It also lists a $15 account-processing fee. The reviewed schedule does not document a credit-check waiver or automatic refund period; the Town's account application states residential deposits are credited after 60 months of excellent payment history.
- Activation or transfer fee
- $15 account processing fee for setup and verification under the publicly indexed Jupiter schedule. Physical turn-on/turn-off or additional trip fees may apply depending on service condition and timing.
