Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The application checklist states that customers must pay by the 15th day from the billing date; if unpaid by the 15th, the account is delinquent and subject to the County's nonpayment process.
Late-fee calculation
Upon delinquency, the County schedules water service for disconnection and adds a $50 administrative fee to the balance; the revised 2026 pamphlet states the fee is not removed even if service is ultimately not disconnected. Final balances 30 days past the due date are forwarded to a third-party collections agency that reports to credit bureaus.
Disconnection timeline
The County's 2026 rule is immediate scheduling upon delinquency: pay by the delinquent notice date to avoid the $50 administrative fee and interruption. Once the final bill balance reaches 30 days past due it goes to third-party collections; the exact field-disconnection day is controlled by the delinquent notice.
