Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The rules set the bill due date at 17 days after the applicable monthly bill date. They do not publish an additional post-due grace period before a late charge.
Late-fee calculation
A late fee of 10% of the utility bill is assessed after the due date, capped at $100. Returned payments may incur a separate fee of up to $50. The rules also authorize service interruption for delinquent balances and state that a $25 trip charge applies when a service person is dispatched to turn water off or on.
Disconnection timeline
The public Canton rules state that water may be withheld or turned off for a delinquent account or indebtedness, but they do not publish a fixed calendar sequence from the missed due date to physical disconnection. The only exact timing published is the due date, 17 days after the monthly bill date.
