What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Montgomery County allows a one-time leak adjustment when a higher-than-normal bill results from an eligible leak and the water did not enter the sanitary sewer. Eligible examples include service-line leaks or leaks inside walls; toilets, appliances, faucets, valves, and sump pumps do not qualify. The customer must repair the leak and provide documentation and proof of repair with the request form. The County also separately supports pool adjustments using a rented hose-bib meter.
