Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
10 days after the due date: an account still unpaid is scheduled for disconnection under CUDRC policy. CUD may grant up to seven days beyond the disconnect date only when the customer requests an extension and gives an acceptable reason.
Late-fee calculation
CUDRC's current public payment page shows an amount due after the due date but the reviewed pages do not state one universal percentage late fee. A returned check incurs a fee and requires cash or money order; payments after 4:30 p.m. post the next business day.
Disconnection timeline
Day 0 is the bill due date. On day 10 after the due date, an unpaid account is scheduled for disconnection. CUD's automated system attempts a reminder call 48 hours before disconnect. A customer-requested extension may continue service up to seven days beyond the disconnect date, subject to account history; locked accounts and pulled meters are not eligible.
