Payment channels

Pay City of Pearland Water Billing & Collections

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as VertexOne WaterSmart / Pearland Water Customer Portal. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

(281) 652-1603, select option 2 for the automated payment system. Effective June 25, 2026, Pearland no longer accepts water-bill payments through a live telephone representative; the phone system remains automated.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

Pearland’s WaterSmart portal supports leak alerts, high-use notifications, unplanned-use notifications, and custom threshold alerts delivered by email, text message, or phone call. The current City materials do not document a text-to-pay bill authorization keyword or SMS payment short code; customers should enroll in portal autopay/recurring credit card or use the automated phone system for payment, while treating text messages as usage-alert communications.

Mail-in address

City of Pearland Water Billing, P.O. Box 206022, Dallas, TX 75320-6022. Customers are instructed to allow enough USPS delivery time and include the account number/service information. The City posts payments daily on the day received, but bank bill-pay checks or uploaded bank files may arrive later than the bank debit confirmation.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Water-bill payments are accepted at the City Hall Annex, 3523 Liberty Drive, Pearland, TX 77581, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding City holidays. A payment drop box is available at the South entrance near Shadybend Drive and Liberty Drive; the City warns that it is not responsible for lost or stolen drop-box payments. In-person instruments include cash, money order, check, and debit/credit card. Customers may also complete bank-draft enrollment at the office; bank draft is automatically withdrawn on the due date without a City fee.

What you can use online

Pearland’s WaterSmart portal supports one-time payment and account login/autopay; the City’s customer materials document recurring credit-card payment and automatic bank draft. The online bill-pay service is powered by VertexOne. The City’s billing FAQ states that automatic online credit-card payments incur no City fee and are debited on the due date. The public pages reviewed do not enumerate every card brand or mobile wallet, and the automated phone system processes account payments after option 2 is selected.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

The City’s current FAQ states that no City fees are assessed for online automatic credit-card payments and that the account is debited on the due date. Bank draft is likewise advertised as having no cost to the customer. A separate one-time online card/e-check convenience-fee schedule is not published on the current WaterSmart and City billing pages reviewed.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Pearland Water Billing & Collections and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
