- For a 3/4-inch or 1-inch meter using 5,000 gallons, the posted January 2026 water charge is approximately $27.66 ($18.96 availability plus $8.70 usage). Adding the January 2026 residential wastewater base of $17.93, the $14.50 monthly CVWRF assessment, and the indoor-use winter charge of $8.65 at 5,000 gallons produces an illustrative winter combined total of approximately $68.74 before taxes or special charges; non-winter wastewater usage is governed by the District's published schedule.
- Wastewater and sewer calculation
- Effective January 1, 2026, residential wastewater is $17.93 per month plus $14.50 per residential equivalent unit for the CVWRF assessment and $1.73 per 1,000 gallons of indoor water use measured during December-April. Multi-unit residential base wastewater is $16.10 per unit. Commercial surcharges depend on sampled strength, and larger meter charges are separate.
- Meter reading
- GHID uses electronic smart meters that record daily usage and transmit data to cellular towers; the District uses the data for billing and leak detection. - New-account deposit
- The reviewed 2026 public sign-up and rate pages do not publish a universal residential startup deposit or credit-check waiver/refund schedule. Separate new-development connection charges are substantial and meter-size-based, including a 3/4-inch water connection total of $4,364 before availability charge; those engineering fees are not ordinary resident account deposits.
