The notes below may document a route, rule, or explicit public-information limit. General preparation steps are not represented as utility policy.
- Leak-adjustment policy
- Loudoun Water’s customer handbook provides a courtesy adjustment for underground leaks between the meter and main service cutoff and inside leaks: 100% of water and sewer overage based on normal use for the same customer and address. The adjustment cannot exceed two quarters and includes the repair quarter plus the prior quarter when applicable. One adjustment per customer/account is allowed for an inside or irrigation leak, not both; the customer must notify Loudoun Water immediately, repair the issue within 30 days after notice, and provide proof of repairs. The authority is responsible for the public main/service connection, while the property owner maintains building piping.
