A courtesy adjustment may be available after a leak is repaired; the handbook requires a request within 90 days of repair, a completed form describing the leak, proof of repair, and other information. Internal-leak requests are limited to once per five years per customer and location; external-leak requests are generally once per location while ownership remains unchanged; no more than three billing months may be adjusted. The handbook typically credits 50% of excess water and sewer charges for internal leaks, and 50% of excess water plus 100% of excess sewer charges for external leaks.
