- Leak-adjustment policy
- Kennewick’s AMI-based policy requires the account holder to be enrolled in the online platform with leak notifications enabled, have a current account in good standing, and not have received an adjustment within the prior two years. A permanent repair must be completed within 30 days of discovery, and the completed request must be submitted within 60 days of final repair with leak-origin, detection, repair dates and photos/receipts/invoices. AMI data determines the duration and excess consumption. Main-service-line leaks receive a full adjustment of excessive use beyond calculated average; plumbing/fixture leaks past the main receive a 50% reduction; irrigation, softener, and backflow cases are generally case-by-case at 50%. Adjustments below $25 are not granted, are limited to two billing cycles, and are allowed once every two years.
