Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions
Pay by text
Carlsbad’s current InvoiceCloud instructions describe email bill-ready notices, paperless billing, and AutoPay but do not publish a dedicated text-to-pay keyword, short code, or SMS enrollment sequence. Customers should register at waterbill.carlsbadca.gov, verify the account, and use the portal or 24/7 IVR rather than reply to an unsolicited text. If InvoiceCloud presents an optional text-alert setting inside the authenticated account, the customer should confirm the mobile number and consent there; no public keyword is verified.
Mail-in address
The current City utility-billing page does not publish a separate lockbox or P.O. Box for mailed water payments. The official Utility Billing/Customer Service location is City of Carlsbad, 1635 Faraday Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92008, and customers should confirm the remittance address printed on their bill before mailing. The Faraday address is the staffed payment location; drop-box deposits at City Hall on Pio Pico Drive and outside the Faraday building are credited the following business day, not immediately.
Counters, drop boxes, and office hours
Customer Service and Utility Billing, 1635 Faraday Avenue, Carlsbad, CA 92008, accepts payments; the current page publishes the department phone (442) 339-2420 and utilitybilling@carlsbadca.gov but does not expose a separate counter schedule in the payment text. Two drop boxes are listed: the City Hall parking lot on Pio Pico Drive and outside the Faraday building. Drop-box payments are credited the following business day. The Utilities Department at 5950 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, CA 92008, handles water operations and does not accept payments. Past-due accounts scheduled for shutoff must be paid in person at Faraday by cash, money order, or credit card, or by credit card through the automated phone line.
