- New-account deposit
- Brea requires a refundable deposit for new service. The deposit is due within 10 days after signup and is refunded after 12 consecutive on-time payments or when service is discontinued. The deposit may be waived with a letter of credit from another utility showing on-time payments, no returned checks, and no nonpayment shutoffs for at least 12 months. The City’s public page does not state one universal dollar amount because the amount is account-specific; customers should obtain the deposit amount when establishing service.

- The 2026 Brea fee-study material identifies a $45 new-account/application fee.
