Payment channels

Pay City of Santa Fe Springs Water Utility Authority

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Current portal vendor not identified by the City. The live 2026 portal replaced or superseded the legacy Paymentus channel documented in the City's 2024 procurement record; that record identifies Paymentus for online and IVR payments but also says the City was soliciting a replacement/expanded solution.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. As a dedicated published IVR number. The City publishes Water Utility Billing at (562) 409-7520 and its former system used Paymentus IVR, but the current 2026 portal and City FAQ do not expose a separate automated-pay telephone number. The FAQ says customers may pay by credit card over the phone, excluding American Express; call the billing line for the current prompts.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. As a published text-to-pay program. The current Santa Fe Springs portal supports account access and bill payment, and the City has historically used texts in internal billing workflows, but no customer-facing SMS keyword, short code, opt-in sequence, or text-payment authorization instructions are published. Customers should use the official portal or call (562) 409-7520 to verify any text message.

Mail-in address

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. As a current dedicated lockbox. Santa Fe Springs states in its utility-billing procurement record that it does not use a lockbox for water payments. The current public FAQ directs customers to pay online or at City Hall and does not publish a 2026 mail-payment address; do not mail payment to an inferred city address without confirming the account instructions with Water Utility Billing.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Customers may pay at City Hall, 11710 East Telegraph Road, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. Current City information lists Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with City offices closed Fridays; the customer FAQ states that water deposits and payments can be made in person. The City’s policy requires payment in legal tender but permits the Authority to refuse coin; the FAQ confirms credit-card payment by phone except American Express. The reviewed current pages do not publish a separate cashier card-brand matrix, drop-box location, or satellite payment center. Call (562) 409-7520 before traveling, especially for delinquent or shutoff-processed accounts.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The current Water Utility Portal supports account login, bill viewing, usage review, and online payment. The City FAQ confirms direct debit from a checking account and credit-card payment over the phone, with American Express excluded from the phone option; the 2024 procurement record identifies Paymentus online/IVR payments, BMO/Bank of the West automated-payment processing, and a planned portal transition. The current portal's complete card-brand and wallet list is not published, and Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo are not confirmed.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. As an exact currently published 2026 amount. The City’s current portal page does not expose its processing-fee schedule in the reviewed text, and the 2024 procurement document describes payment channels without a consumer fee table. Any card, ACH, IVR, returned-payment, or portal fee must be verified on the live checkout screen or with Water Utility Billing at (562) 409-7520.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Santa Fe Springs Water Utility Authority and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
