Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
20 days after the billing date; late penalties are applied three days after the due date.
Late-fee calculation
Late penalties of 5% per outstanding line item are applied three days after the due date. A returned payment can generate a statutory returned-item fee, and after the County is notified of a returned payment service is subject to disconnection five days later, or immediately for some reconnection or repeated-return circumstances.
Disconnection timeline
Bills are due when rendered, become past due 20 days after billing, and receive a 5% line-item penalty three days after the due date. If payment is still not posted five days after the due date, an Urgent Notice is mailed; customers receiving one must call 941-764-4300. Returned payments can place service at risk five days after notice, and the account is subject to the County credit-and-collections process.
