What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Hialeah provides a Check Reading Request and Leak Credit Consideration workflow through its Dispute a Bill page. Customers should first request a meter-reading recheck, document the suspected leak and repair, retain plumber/parts receipts or other proof, and submit the leak-credit request for City review. The governing code states that no abatements or deductions are generally allowed for metered service except meter-reading errors, meter inaccuracies, or City billing errors, and that written claims for a disputed metered bill should be made within 30 days. The online leak-credit form is therefore a request for consideration, not an automatic forgiveness promise; the City decides the applicable credit based on the evidence and current ordinance.
