- Residential wastewater is billed from water consumption at a FY2026 fixed charge of $22.83 inside city limits or $28.54 outside, plus $5.12 per 1,000 gallons inside or $6.40 outside. A residence’s volume charge is capped at 12,000 gallons per month; the City lists maximum 5/8- to 3/4-inch residential wastewater bills of $84.27 inside and $105.34 outside. The bill explains wastewater as usage-based and separately displays the water-use history; no winter-average formula is published because the City uses the monthly metered-water basis and cap.

- Residential service deposits are listed separately as $30 for water and $35 for wastewater; additional City utility services may have separate deposits. Lakeland performs an Experian credit check with customer authorization and may waive or modify the deposit based on credit or an acceptable 12-month payment history. A deposit can be increased to as much as twice the average monthly utility cost if payment history deteriorates. Public-housing applicants may pay an initial $20 and $20 monthly installments. Cash deposits are refunded about 30 days after final payment at closure, and residential customers with two consecutive years of satisfactory utility credit history may have the deposit credited to the current bill, subject to final charges.
- Activation or transfer fee
- Scheduled residential service start or transfer activation is $20; same-day start is $40. There is no charge to stop service. Same-day service must generally be requested before 4 p.m. to guarantee same-day processing, and start requests are handled online through the account portal or by Customer Service at (863) 834-9535 Monday–Friday 7:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Existing customers moving service must provide the old and new addresses and dates, and the account cannot have a past-due balance for a move request.
