Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The bill is due upon receipt and becomes delinquent 21 days after the billing date. A courtesy notice provides nine days after the due date to pay the delinquent bill in full or make arrangements.
Late-fee calculation
Accounts with a past-due balance greater than $25 are charged $5.00 or 1.5% of the past-due balance, whichever is greater; balances below $25 are not assessed a late charge. A Customer Service representative may waive a delinquent charge when there was no delinquent adjustment in the prior 12 months or the charge was erroneous. Returned checks cost $20 before bank return and $35 after return.
Disconnection timeline
Payment is due on receipt; delinquency occurs 21 days after billing. If payment is not received by 5:00 p.m. on or before the due date, a courtesy notice and late charge are issued. The notice gives nine days after the due date to pay in full or make arrangements; absent arrangements, service becomes subject to disconnection. An extension can provide a two-week grace period beyond the due date, with up to three residential extensions per calendar year.
