Sewer is a separate meter-consumption schedule and differs between City of Elizabethtown and Hardin County sewer customers.

- Sewer charges are calculated from metered water use, but the applicable schedule depends on the treatment provider. The District’s FAQ describes both digital and non-digital meters: digital registers display usage and a leak-indicator screen, while analog meters use a red leak dial. The reviewed sources do not identify a utility-wide AMI network or radio transmission schedule.
- New-account deposit
- A $60 deposit is required for all new accounts, payable with the application; the applicant supplies photo ID, lease/occupancy documentation, and payment information. HCWD2 does not currently perform credit checks, but its tariff allows a deposit waiver with satisfactory credit/payment history from another utility or if the customer has not been delinquent or disconnected by HCWD2 during the prior 12 months. Deposits are refunded after two consecutive years of satisfactory history or at termination, with interest credited annually; landlord accounts do not require a deposit under the landlord agreement.
- Activation or transfer fee
- A $20 new-service/connection fee is placed on the first bill for a new or transferred account, and new accounts are generally scheduled two business days after application. A 5/8-inch by 3/4-inch new meter tap is $1,600; larger meters are actual cost. The service agreement requires applicants to provide identity and occupancy information.
