Payment channels

Pay Kansas City Water Services Department (KC Water)

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as KC Water My Account/ePortal; the current public pages do not separately identify the underlying payment vendor.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

KC Water's current payment options support a portal, guest pay, phone payment, eBill, AutoPay, and account alerts, but do not publish a text-to-pay enrollment keyword or SMS payment credential flow. Customers may receive account/service notifications and can view daily consumption online; pay-by-text is recorded as not publicly stated rather than inferred from general messaging.

Mail-in address

KC Water, P.O. Box 807045, Kansas City, MO 64180-7045. Include the full 17-digit account number or the detached bottom section of the bill; mailed payment should be a check or money order as directed by the current payment instructions.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

KC Water Account Service and Payment Center/Lobby, 4800 E. 63rd Street, Kansas City, MO 64130, is open 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday excluding holidays; an exterior self-service kiosk is available 24 hours a day. City Hall Treasurer's Office, 414 E. 12th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106, provides a payment center. The lobby and City Hall kiosks accept card/check/cash options as posted, while the official drop box at the south entrance of 4800 E. 63rd accepts payments for weekday processing; include the full account number and do not put cash in a drop box. Customers should call before visiting for current counter acceptance rules.

What you can use online

KC Water's portal and pay-by-phone system accept credit or debit cards and electronic checks from a bank account. The account portal supports guest pay, saved payment methods, AutoPay from checking or savings, eBill, payment arrangements, daily usage, and service start/stop requests. Self-service kiosks accept credit/debit card and check; cash, check, and card availability can vary by in-person location. Bank-account AutoPay has no utility processing fee according to the current payment page.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

Online and phone debit/credit-card payments are subject to a processing fee, while bank-account electronic checks are fee-free. The current public 2026 payment page does not state a fixed dollar amount or percentage; the exact processor charge is shown before payment confirmation and should be treated as not publicly stated until KC Water publishes the 2026 schedule. No fee is charged for checking/savings AutoPay.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by Kansas City Water Services Department (KC Water) and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
