Provider-specific findings

Billing and account research from public material

Provider-specific research notes are displayed separately from fields that contain only an unavailable-information marker. Read qualifiers in each note and verify current account terms with the provider.

Billing frequency
Monthly for standard residential Pennsylvania service. The 2026 tariff states that residential bills are rendered monthly and show a due date 20 days after the bill is mailed. Some other Veolia territories or customer classes may be billed on different cycles.
Rate structure
Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission tariff: a fixed monthly customer service charge by meter size plus a uniform volumetric charge per 100 gallons, with a 0.07% State Tax Adjustment Surcharge effective January 1, 2026. For the standard Pennsylvania residential schedule outside the former Bethel area, 5/8- to 3/4-inch service has a $17.00 monthly customer-service charge and all usage is $1.16142 per 100 gallons. Territory-specific schedules apply in Bethel, Mahoning, Franklin, Dallas, and other listed areas.
Residential cost reference
Approximately $86.64 per month for the standard Pennsylvania residential schedule on a 5/8- or 3/4-inch meter using 6,000 gallons: $17.00 fixed customer-service charge plus 60 units of 100 gallons at $1.16142, with the 2026 0.07% State Tax Adjustment Surcharge applied. This is a water-only estimate before any local wastewater, franchise, tax, surcharge, or territory-specific adjustment.
Wastewater and sewer calculation
Veolia Water Pennsylvania has a separate PUC wastewater tariff effective January 1, 2026, but wastewater service is territory-specific and is not universal to every CWS water customer. The water tariff bills residential drinking water from the monthly metered water volume plus the fixed customer-service charge; customers should consult the applicable local wastewater tariff or municipal sewer bill for sewer treatment, flow, or other wastewater charges. No universal residential winter-average calculation is published for all Veolia Pennsylvania territories.
Meter reading
Veolia bills from meter readings and says the method depends on location, meter age, and meter type. Pennsylvania service can include radio-frequency reading by walking or driving past the property, tower collection in some areas, external touch/view devices, or direct register reads when no remote device exists. The tariff requires actual meter readings by company personnel except for permitted estimates, and allows estimates for severe weather, emergencies, equipment failure, or inaccessible meters. It does not publish a single statewide residential reading interval.
New-account deposit
The Pennsylvania tariff permits Veolia to require a customer deposit from an applicant or existing customer in accordance with Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission regulations, but the public tariff does not set one universal dollar amount because it depends on account and regulatory circumstances. Deposits accrue interest. After 12 consecutive months without termination and without paying late on more than two occasions, a cash deposit must be refunded with accrued interest if the account is not delinquent; on discontinuance, the company applies the deposit to outstanding charges and refunds the remainder, generally within 30 days for non-nonpayment discontinuance.
Activation or transfer fee
The tariff does not publish one universal residential activation or transfer fee. A customer-requested temporary turn-on/off for maintenance is no charge during normal business hours and $75 outside normal hours. New service, service after a termination or discontinuance, and territory-specific connection work may require an application, deposit, or other tariff charges; customers should obtain the account-specific amount from Veolia.
