Payment channels

Pay Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB)

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Paymentus for KUB online card and debit-card processing; KUB also operates its own My Account and SelectPay bank-draft functions.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

865-524-2911 or 1-800-250-8068; the automated account and payment system is available 24/7, while customer-service representatives are generally available Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

KUB publishes text and email account notifications, paperless-billing alerts, and low-balance alerts for applicable programs, but the reviewed 2026 public materials do not document a general text-to-pay keyword or an SMS command that authorizes bill payment. Customers should enroll through My Account and use the verified KUB portal or IVR for the actual transaction.

Mail-in address

Knoxville Utilities Board, P.O. Box 59029, Knoxville, TN 37950-9029. Customers should include the KUB account number on the check or money order and allow mailing time; bank payments are not authorized for final-notice or partial-payment accounts.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

KUB provides customer-service centers and PaySite kiosks throughout the Greater Knoxville area. The published facilities information identifies the customer-service location at 4428 Western Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921, and KUB also lists authorized payment centers and retail kiosks through its payment-location map. Kiosks accept cash or check, do not give change, and credit overpayments to the account; customers may also pay at authorized banks before the due date. Bring the bill or 10-digit account number and verify the current location map before visiting.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

KUB accepts debit and credit cards through Paymentus at no KUB convenience charge, free ACH/bank-draft payments through AutoPay or SelectPay, and online account payments through My Account. The KUB automated phone system supports account payment prompts; the online card payment limit is $2,000. KUB also offers paperless billing, levelized billing, and mobile-account management.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

KUB states that Paymentus debit and credit card payments are accepted at no cost to the customer. AutoPay and SelectPay bank drafts are also described as free; third-party retail kiosk or cash-payment fees, when applicable, are controlled by the location and should be checked before submission.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
