Payment channels

Pay Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) Water and Wastewater Services

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Bryan Texas Utilities' city-branded BTU Online / billpay portal; the current public pages do not identify a separate payment-gateway vendor.. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

(979) 821-5700, the BTU automated voice payment line available 24 hours a day. The current 2026 sample bill instructs customers to use the e-payment option and have the BTU account number and credit card available. Billing and customer-service hours printed on the bill are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

Water customers with a cell number on the BTU account are automatically enrolled for water-outage, restoration, and continuous-usage alert texts from (979) 209-5900. Customers can update the phone number or add a secondary contact through the City's contact form. This is an outage/leak-alert service, not text-to-pay; BTU does not publish a payment keyword or short-code enrollment path.

Mail-in address

Bryan Texas Utilities, P.O. Box 8000, Bryan, TX 77805-8000. The address appears on the current 2026 sample bill and on the BTU online-account pages; customers should include the payment stub and account number.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

BTU payment kiosks accept credit cards, cash, and checks at H-E-B, 1609 N. Texas Avenue; H-E-B, 725 E. Villa Maria Road; BTU drive-through, 200 E. 29th Street; and BTU drive-through, 2611 N. BTU's primary office is 205 E. 28th Street, Bryan TX 77803, with billing/customer-service hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Customers should bring the BTU account number, bill, keycard, or reminder letter to a kiosk; holiday schedules can change staffed-office access.

What you can use online

BTU Online and the automated telephone line support credit-card and e-check payments; the online account also provides payment and historical usage access. BTU offers recurring credit-card payment and automatic bank-draft arrangements. The current public pages do not publish a complete list of supported card brands or mobile wallets, while the 2026 sample bill specifically instructs phone users to have a credit card and account number.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. The current 2026 BTU bill and public payment pages identify online, phone, kiosk, card, e-check, and recurring-payment options but do not state a current flat or percentage convenience fee. Customers should confirm the final Paymentus/BTU checkout disclosure, if any, before submitting a payment; the printed late, disconnect, reconnect, and returned-check fees are separate utility charges.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) Water and Wastewater Services and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
