Provider-specific review
What the public record says about a leak adjustment
The City code makes the customer responsible for water lost through leakage in plumbing or piping on the customer side of the meter and for avoidable water waste, including controllable irrigation leaks and malfunctioning sprinklers. The current Arlington materials emphasize remote-read hourly usage, continuous-use notifications, high-usage alerts, and a 2026 mobile app so a customer can identify abnormal consumption quickly. The sources reviewed do not publish a universal 2026 leak-forgiveness formula, cap, receipt requirement, filing deadline, or guaranteed credit. A customer should first stop the leak, preserve meter and repair evidence, contact Water Utilities Customer Service at (817) 275-5931, and request an account review; the City's published rate-adjustment authority allows the Director to correct inequities in rate-calculation methodology, but that provision is not a promise of a hidden-leak credit.
