What the public record says about a leak adjustment
For a water-leak bill adjustment under Austin City Code 15-9-141, submit the request within 90 days after the leak repair. The packet must include the Austin Water account number, the property address, the date range of the high bill, the repair date and description, and a leak-repair receipt or paid invoice that describes the work. Documents may be emailed to customercare@coautilities.com or faxed to 512-505-4035. Austin separately provides a non-leak high-volume adjustment under Code 15-9-142 for a single-family residential customer with at least four months of billing history beyond the disputed period, no adjustment during the preceding two years, and usage at least three times the expected volume; the application must be submitted within 90 days of the high-use bill. If approved, charges above expected volume are credited. The same billing period cannot also be taken through an administrative hearing, and Austin’s public page does not state a guaranteed percentage credit or reimbursement of private repair costs.
