Payment channels

Pay City of Conroe Utility Billing Department

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Tyler Technologies Municipal Online Services. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

A dedicated this detail was not publicly posted. Conroe’s current official payment portal documents online quick pay, account registration, bank draft, e-bill, and Utility Billing telephone support at (936) 522-3170, but the reviewed public pages do not publish a separate automated IVR payment number.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

The current Conroe portal advertises e-bill delivery and notices by email, including late and cut-off notices, but does not publish a text-to-pay keyword, SMS enrollment short code, or text payment workflow. Customers should use the portal quick-pay form, registered account, bank draft, or Utility Billing office rather than treating consumption or notice messaging as a payment channel.

Mail-in address

City of Conroe, Attn: Utility Billing Department, P.O. Box 3066, Conroe, TX 77305-3066. The City’s service application directs applicants and customers to submit the completed form, service charge, deposit, and accepted cash/check/money-order payment information to this Utility Billing address.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

The official payment portal lists the Utility Billing office at 700 Metcalf St., Conroe, Texas 77301, with office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The City’s service application also directs in-person applications and payment to the Conroe Municipal Center at that address and states that cash, checks, and money orders are accepted. The current portal does not provide a separate counter-by-counter location list or a current drop-box schedule; e-bill, bank draft, online quick pay, and registered account service are the documented alternatives.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The current Tyler Municipal Online Services portal supports online utility quick pay and registered-account payments. The City documents credit-card payments, e-check, and bank draft from a checking account. The credit-card processing fee is 2.50% per utility transaction, and the e-check option carries a flat $2.80 per-transaction fee effective August 5, 2025; bank draft has no processing fee. The current public pages do not enumerate the card brands or mobile wallets, so those details are recorded as not published.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

The current payment portal states a 2.50% credit-card processing fee per utility transaction, with additional processing fees potentially applying. E-check payments carry a flat $2.80 fee per utility transaction. Bank draft from a checking account is advertised with no processing fee. The City’s public payment page does not identify a separate 2026 fee cap or a card-brand-specific exception.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Conroe Utility Billing Department and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
