Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The exact printed due-date interval is not stated on the reviewed current Ennis pages. The FY2025-26 fee schedule applies a 5% late-payment penalty per occurrence; customers should treat the due date printed on the monthly bill as the final no-penalty date and not assume a post-due-date grace period.
Late-fee calculation
The current FY2025-26 fee schedule lists a 5% late-payment penalty per occurrence and a $30 returned-check fee. The City’s current FAQ does not publish a separate minimum late fee or compounding rule. The older Tyler payment page and current Xpress Bill Pay transition should not be mixed when calculating processor and delinquency charges.
Disconnection timeline
The reviewed current Ennis pages do not publish a fixed calendar timeline from the due date to physical disconnection. The FY2025-26 schedule lists a $50 business-hours reconnect fee and $100 after-hours turn-on fee, indicating that unpaid service can progress to disconnect/reconnect status, but the legal notice sequence and day count must be confirmed directly with Utility Billing at 972-875-1234.
