What the public record says about a leak adjustment
Irving Ordinance #4211 permits Water Utilities Customer Service to consider one concealed-leak adjustment every 12 months. The customer must have the concealed leak repaired and submit proof, such as a plumbing-repair receipt, through the City's leak-adjustment request. The form states that the request is not considered until after the meter is read for the period following repair; only the two highest months affected by the leak are adjusted, the customer must continue paying an amount equivalent to the normal monthly bill for affected months plus all current charges, and the sewer calculation is reviewed for a corresponding adjustment when the leak affected the sewer average. The adjustment is discretionary and customers should apply promptly after repair.
