Payment channels

Pay City of Mission Utility Billing & Collections Department

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Tyler Technologies Municipal Online Services. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

833-277-0389; the City states that the automated line requires the account number and service address and charges $1.25 per payment.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

No current official Mission page reviewed documents a text-to-pay keyword, enrollment shortcode, or opt-in sequence. The documented alternatives are the Municipal Online portal, automated telephone payment, bank draft, the City night drop box, H-E-B, and Walmart.

Mail-in address

City of Mission Utility Billing Department, 1201 E. 8th Street, Mission, TX 78572. Checks and money orders should identify the account; the City does not publish a separate lockbox address on the reviewed page.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Utility Billing is at City Hall, 1201 E. 8th Street, Mission, Texas 78572. Lobby hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; the drive-through is open Monday–Thursday 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The drive-through page says only cash and checks are accepted there and the customer must have the water bill, while the department page says credit-card payment is available in person with a 5% fee. A night drop box is northwest of the drive-through and accepts checks and money orders only. H-E-B and Walmart are also listed as third-party payment locations for current accounts.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The Municipal Online portal identifies Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. The City also accepts checking-account bank draft and automated phone payment; Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other wallets are not documented.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

$1.25 per online or automated-phone payment; the City separately states that an in-person credit-card payment carries a 5% fee. The portal also warns that the card billing address and ZIP must exactly match bank records.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by City of Mission Utility Billing & Collections Department and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
