Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
20 calendar days after the bill date. A late charge is assessed once the account becomes delinquent; senior citizens are exempt from penalties.
Late-fee calculation
The City applies a 10% late charge to delinquent accounts, with a minimum late charge of $2.50 for residential accounts and $15 for commercial accounts. The current payment page states that senior citizens are exempt. In 2026 the City resumed delinquency notices beginning March 1, while the late-fee hold remained in place until further notice in the March 2026 customer bulletin.
Disconnection timeline
The ordinary bill is due 20 calendar days after its bill date. North Richland Hills' March 2026 bulletin states that delinquency reminder notices began March 1, 2026 and nonpayment disconnections were scheduled to resume April 1, 2026 after a prior pause; it does not publish a universal number of days from the due date to the field shutoff. The City contacts customers when an account becomes delinquent and gives notice of a pending disconnection.
