Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
The current FAQ does not state a fixed penalty-free grace-period number. It states that a mailed delinquent notice is issued after the due date and that the notice contains the service-disconnection date.
Late-fee calculation
No current numeric late-fee percentage or fixed delinquency charge was identified on Sugar Land's current payment, rate, and FAQ pages. Customers should treat the due date and the mailed delinquent notice as controlling, and contact Treasury at 281-275-2750 or request a payment plan/extension before the notice's disconnection date.
Disconnection timeline
Sugar Land does not publish a universal day-count on the reviewed pages. The account-specific process begins after the bill due date with a mailed delinquent notice; e-billing customers also receive the notice by email, and the notice states the disconnection date. The city may also place a notification call to the phone number on the account before disconnection.
