Payment channels

Pay CITY OF TYLER

Use the provider’s verified online, telephone, mail, or counter instructions. Check the final confirmation screen for the amount, processing date, and any transaction fee before submitting.

Primary online route

Use the official payment portal

The direct portal is the fastest route when it is available. The provider identifies its payment gateway as Invoice Cloud (new 2026 portal); Paymentus remains the City-listed fallback payment provider during the transition. Never enter account credentials into a lookalike site reached through an unsolicited message.

Telephone payment

Phone IVR

903-531-1230, select Option 1 for the City payment system, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for debit card, credit card, or e-check payments. The transition notice also lists the Paymentus fallback number 833-241-1675.

Have your account number and payment instrument ready. Follow the provider’s recorded prompts and retain the confirmation number.

Alternative channels

Mail, text, and in-person payment instructions

Pay by text

Tyler launched Invoice Cloud in June 2026 with email and text reminders containing quick-pay links and a pay-by-text option. Customers create or access a MyTylerUtilities.com profile, then follow the portal prompts to manage notifications and saved payment preferences. The City does not publish a text keyword or SMS short code on its utility page.

Mail-in address

City of Tyler Water, P.O. Box 336, Tyler, TX 75710. The official utility page lists this as the mailing address for bill payments; customers should use the remittance instructions and account information on the statement.

Counters, drop boxes, and office hours

Tyler Water Utilities Business Office, 511 W. Locust St., Tyler, TX 75702, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM except holidays. The west-side drive-through kiosk operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week; it accepts cash without dispensing change, along with cards, checks, and money orders. Two drop boxes accept checks or money orders: the main box at 511 W. Locust and a second box in the Rice Road Brookshires parking lot near the mailboxes. Both are emptied at 8:00 AM Monday through Friday, and payments deposited after that time post the next business day. Tyler also lists numerous authorized offsite payment merchants whose payments are received the next business day.

Accepted digital instruments

What you can use online

The current Invoice Cloud announcement lists debit and credit cards, checking-account or card Auto Pay, e-check, Apple Pay, Google Pay, tap-to-pay, and text-linked quick payment. Tyler also supports multiple-account management in one portal login. The legacy/current utility page lists debit card, credit card, and e-check phone payments.

2026 transaction pricing

Convenience fees

The City of Tyler states that it will continue covering transaction fees for digital payment methods in the new Invoice Cloud system, so no online card, wallet, or e-check convenience fee is published for 2026. Separate utility charges still apply for connection, late notice, delinquent disconnection, returned payment, and other service actions.

Fees can vary by payment type, channel, account class, and processor terms. The checkout screen is the final fee disclosure.

Payment guidance

Choose the payment channel that fits your deadline

The safest payment path is the one published by CITY OF TYLER and matched to the account information on your bill. Online portals are convenient, but telephone, mail, counter, and drop-box options may follow different posting schedules and may use different fees.

For a routine payment, save the final confirmation page or IVR number and check when the transaction will post. For a same-day shut-off notice, do not assume that submitting a card payment automatically stops a field order; ask the provider what amount and confirmation are required.

Never send your account number, password, card details, or bank information to Water Ledger. Those details belong only on the provider’s verified payment channel or at an authorized counter.
