What the public record says about a leak adjustment
ACSA’s rules provide two detailed leak-relief paths. For a promptly repaired primary water-service-line leak, the customer must present evidence within 12 months of repair; water usage above normal consumption is adjusted to the Residential Level 1 water rate and no sewer charge is made for the estimated amount that did not enter the sanitary sewer. For an irrigation or interior-plumbing leak repaired immediately, generally within one or two billing cycles, water and sewer charges for usage above normal are adjusted to 50% of the current billed rates; the allowance is limited to one adjustment per account every three years and evidence must be submitted within 12 months. Customers who opt out of ACSA’s AMI system are not eligible for the relief.
