Notice and timing
How delinquency is handled
Grace period after the due date
60 days from the bill due date before the account is subject to water-service disconnection.
Late-fee calculation
The FY2026-2027 Public Utilities fee schedule lists finance charges of 1.5% per month with a $0.50 minimum. The delinquency policy says late-payment fees are assessed when the bill reaches 14 days past due; the same schedule lists a $10 door-tag placement fee and $25 disconnect/reconnect fee.
Disconnection timeline
Day 0 is the bill due date. A reminder bill is sent 5 days after the due date; finance charges are assessed at 14 days past due; a delinquent cut-off notice is sent at 30 days; door-tag service gives the customer 14 days to pay in full or make a suitable payment and payment plan; water disconnection can occur after the 60-day window. Disconnections are not performed on Fridays, weekends, state holidays or the day immediately before a state holiday, and are deferred when the National Weather Service forecasts at least 92°F within the following 24 hours.
