- Billing frequency
- Monthly. Active accounts are billed for water usage/service, wastewater usage/service, sanitation and recycling, stormwater management, and applicable utility tax.
- Rate structure
- Increasing block commodity tiers measured in CCF (hundred cubic feet; one CCF equals 748 gallons), plus fixed monthly service charges. Effective October 1, 2025 for a residential dwelling unit, water service is $24.38 per month and commodity charges are $2.83 per CCF for 0–8 CCF, $3.52 for 9–16, $4.16 for 17–36, $4.88 for 37–76, $5.62 for 77–200, and $6.31 above 200. A 25% surcharge applies outside City limits, and a South Florida Water Management District restriction surcharge of 10% for each phase may apply to usage above 8 CCF.

- At 5,000 gallons (about 6.68 CCF), the October 1, 2025 residential schedule produces approximately $43.30 for water service plus usage and $49.76 for wastewater service plus usage, or about $93.06 for water and wastewater before taxes. A typical full City bill can also include the $16.69 full stormwater charge, $4.84 curbside recycling, $23.85 sanitation per dwelling, and applicable utility tax, making the recurring pre-tax example approximately $138.44 before property-specific adjustments.
- Wastewater and sewer calculation
- Residential wastewater has a $16.75 monthly service charge and is calculated from metered potable-water consumption at $4.94 per CCF for the first 16 CCF; the 2025–2026 schedule lists no wastewater commodity charge above that residential range. The City’s bill explanation describes wastewater usage as based on metered water consumption. Properties without City water are charged a separate wastewater commodity amount of $34.58 per dwelling/equivalent unit. The public materials do not describe a winter-average method.
- Meter reading
- Water use is measured in CCF and billed monthly from a service meter. The public bill explanation identifies the meter number and metered water consumption, but the current 2025–2026 City materials do not identify a manufacturer, AMI/AMR platform, remote-transmission interval, or whether each read is automated versus field collected. - New-account deposit
- Deposits are required from every customer except governmental entities. Effective October 1, 2025 minimum residential deposits are meter-size based: $190 for a 5/8-inch meter, $285 for 3/4-inch, $480 for 1-inch, $955 for 1-1/2-inch, $1,530 for 2-inch, $2,865 for 3-inch, $4,775 for 4-inch, $9,550 for 6-inch, $15,280 for 8-inch, $21,965 for 10-inch, and $41,085 for 12-inch; general-service deposits are higher. Commercial deposits must be paid before connection and are retained until the account closes. A single-family residential deposit is credited to the utility bill after payments are received on or before the due date for 12 consecutive months; multi-family and commercial deposits are returned only when service is discontinued, applied against the final bill, with any balance refunded by check.
- Activation or transfer fee
- The effective October 1, 2025 City rate sheet lists a $45 one-time service-initiation fee. The FAQ describes it as non-refundable and charged upon water-service activation. Applicants must contact 561-822-1300 for current activation/transfer requirements; the public schedule does not list a separate transfer-name fee beyond the initiation charge.
