- Using the current published 3/4-inch water schedule and the FY2026 no-water-rate-increase budget position, 5,000 gallons is approximately $26.15 water ($12.40 + 5×$2.75) plus $27.05 wastewater ($22.55 including the first 4,000 gallons + one additional 1,000-gallon unit at $4.50), or about $53.20 for water and sewer before garbage, roadway, drainage, electric, taxes, or the card-payment fee. At 7,000 gallons, the water/sewer estimate is about $31.65 + $36.05 = $67.70. The published residential sewer maximum is $49.70 per month for metered-water accounts.
- Wastewater and sewer calculation
- College Station residential sewer is billed from metered water consumption rather than a separate sewer meter. The current published residential charge is $22.55 per month including 4,000 gallons, then $4.50 per additional 1,000 gallons of metered water, with a $49.70 monthly maximum for metered-water residential service. There is no winter averaging in the published description. Customers whose water comes from another provider but are connected to City sewer initially receive the higher published sewer treatment and may submit at least six months of official water bills so Utility Customer Service can evaluate a lower charge for those months and going forward.

- Residential College Station water meters are typically 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch and are read monthly by meter readers using handheld computers; the first four meter digits record thousands of gallons and the bill labels each unit MGW. - New-account deposit
- The current City utility page confirms that deposits are charged to utility accounts, but it does not publish a universal 2026 residential dollar amount or a standard refund timetable. The account holder is responsible for deposits and other charges, and commercial application materials state that all commercial accounts are billed a deposit unless an acceptable letter of credit is submitted; applicants should call Utility Customer Service for the amount. Historic City policy materials described residential deposits based on estimated average monthly utility cost with exemptions for qualifying homeowners or renters enrolled in Auto Pay, but that historical rule is not asserted as the current 2026 residential schedule.
- Activation or transfer fee
- An Account Creation Fee of $30.90 is required for all accounts and is billed on the first bill. Transfers, new service, and account changes can be requested by phone, mail, fax, online, or in person; the current public page does not publish a separate transfer fee. For new physical construction, the January 1, 2026 fee schedule lists residential water impact fees of $2,325 for a 5/8-inch meter and wastewater impact fees of $3,300, a 5/8-inch water service connection fee of $643.42, and a 4-inch residential sewer connection installation fee of $350; these are development/connection charges, not the ordinary account-creation charge.
