- Billing frequency
- Monthly. OUC’s traditional service sends monthly bills, and AutoPay drafts the monthly bill on the printed due date. OUC Power Pass is a prepaid daily-balance alternative rather than a conventional monthly bill.
- Rate structure
- FY2026 OUC potable water uses a fixed monthly meter charge plus increasing block rates for individually metered residential dwellings and 5/8-inch meters. Effective October 1, 2025, the 5/8-inch fixed charge is $10.50; potable water is $0.90 per 1,000 gallons for the first 3,000 gallons, $1.40 for the next 4,000, $2.30 for the next 12,000, and $15.00 above 19,000. Irrigation has separate blocks, including $2.30 for the first 19,000, $8.00 for the next 11,000, and $15.00 above 30,000. Municipal utility taxes may be added by the jurisdiction.
- Residential cost reference
- For a typical Orlando-area 5/8-inch residential potable-water account using 5,000 gallons, the FY2026 OUC water charge is approximately $10.50 fixed plus $2.70 for the first 3,000 and $2.80 for the next 2,000, or $16.00 before municipal tax. The City of Orlando FY2026 sewer charge for a single-family home inside city limits at 5,000 gallons is $25.60 capacity plus $30.90 commodity, or $56.50. A combined Orlando water-and-sewer estimate is therefore about $72.50 before municipal tax, solid waste, stormwater, or other bill components.
- Wastewater and sewer calculation
- For customers whose OUC bill carries City of Orlando sewer, FY2026 single-family sewer is $25.60 per month inside city limits or $32.00 outside, plus $6.18 or $7.73 per 1,000 gallons of current OUC water use, capped at 14,000 gallons. The City explicitly calculates total monthly sewer as capacity charge plus commodity charge multiplied by monthly water consumption on the OUC bill. Residential customers may request sewer credits for a verified leak, qualifying pool fill, or vacancy; vacancy credits are limited to two per calendar year and require electricity use of 200 kWh or less plus minimal/no water use.
- Meter reading
- OUC is upgrading water meters with next-generation Advanced Metering Infrastructure and provides a myOUC Usage Dashboard with daily water-use views and high-usage alerts. OUC’s public water materials also describe systemwide acoustic leak detection, algorithmic analysis, and mapping. The current pages do not promise hourly transmissions for every account, but participating/eligible customers can view daily usage and set alerts; traditional accounts are billed on the monthly meter cycle.
- New-account deposit
- OUC determines any required deposit from Experian credit information, services available at the premise, and OUC payment history; the public residential page does not publish one fixed water-only dollar amount. Deposits are typically credited/refunded after the account is two years old with no forced collections, no more than four delinquent payments in the preceding 24 months, and no returned payments. A new customer with one late payment during the first six months or one forced collection during the first 12 months may be billed an additional deposit based on twice the average monthly bill. OUC Power Pass avoids a traditional deposit.
- Activation or transfer fee
- OUC applies a $25 customer connection charge when initiating an account or transferring it to a different location, including same-day activation of any combination of OUC services. Start/stop/move requests are made through myOUC or (407) 423-9018. Weekday requests before 4 p.m. at a location without active service may be completed the same day if requirements are met; requests after 4 p.m., weekend requests, and holiday requests generally move to the next available business day.
