A separately metered wastewater facility is billed on 100% of measured discharge at its applicable rate. The residential sewer charge is capped at the base plus volume for 25,000 gallons, and separate irrigation meters that discharge no water to the sewer receive no sewer charge.
- Meter reading
- The current rate materials require each water meter to be billed separately and describe monthly billing. The reviewed current GUC pages do not identify an AMI/AMR transmission interval or universal field-reading schedule.
- New-account deposit
- The initial deposit is determined by the services required and the applicant's credit score. A good payment history with GUC or another utility may waive the deposit; a current GUC customer with good history can cosign if the homeowner has at least two years of active service or the renter has five years. After one year of on-time payment, the deposit may qualify to be credited to the account.
- Activation or transfer fee
- GUC lists $5.40 to set up a new account where the customer assumes usage costs since the prior regular meter reading; $27.00 for a scheduled weekday water/sewer cut-on and account setup; $10.80 for a scheduled weekday read-and-leave-on setup; and $43.20 for same-date weekday cut-on/read and setup.
